Neighborhood Day Camps

Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania operates nine sites for troop camping and outdoor programs. Each site offers a unique outdoor opportunity for exploration, education, and an exciting camp experience. Click here to rent a campsite.

Stay Cool in the Pool at the Shelly Ridge Swim Club! Summer fun is right around the corner and up the hill! Shelly Ridge Swim Club isn’t just for Girl Scout families and offers affordable memberships. It is located at 330 Manor Road, Miquon, PA 19444 and open afternoons, evenings, and weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day. aMAZing Riders, July 18-30,
Grades 6-10, Cost: $670
Earn:
Horse Sense IPP, Interact, Diplomat and Peacemaker Award; completion of the aMAZE Journey (one of the new requirements for pursuing Silver or Gold Award); All camper-levels (including beginners) learn Western Riding techniques to tackle challenges in the riding ring, on the trails, and all around camp-which is transformed into a 400-acre Maze! Out of the saddle, girls swim, hike and discuss the importance of navigating relationships.
Art for CHANGE, August 1-13
Grades 6-10, Cost: $595
Earn:
Media Savvy IPA; Campers use art to advocate for a better world by producing videos about environmental preservation; writing songs or poetry about justice; photographing friendship-in-action; painting banners for freedom; and sketching their vision of "GIRLtopia." A graphic designer talks about media career opportunities and teaches logo design. Family and friends are invited (on the second Wednesday) for a display of girls' visual and performing art. It's a wrap when campers create the 2011 Camp Laughing Waters commercial as a team!

Crafty Campers, July 26-30
Entering Grades: 6-8, Cost: $185
Campers explore the arts and perhaps discover a new hobby, by learning macramé, crocheting, knitting, tie-dying and more.
Pirate Adventure, July 19-23
Entering Grades: 6-10, Cost: $180
Ahoy maties! It’s a Valley Forge Adventure. After they’re assigned new pirate names, campers have a jolly good time tie dying bandanas, making pirate flags and hunting for buried treasure!
Valley Forge Day Spa, August 2-6
Entering Grades: 6-10, Cost: $180
De-stress at the Valley Forge Day Spa!  Campers practice breathing exercises and yoga for relaxation, and discover healthy beauty secrets by making their own lip gloss and bath salts.
