GSEP 2010 Earth Day Service Project: Save the date! April 16-April 30, 2010
Once again, members are invited to participate in a Council-wide Earth Day Service Project. GSEP will support this effort by providing a list of suggested activities for Service Units, Troops and individuals. We will also encourage you to come up with your own ideas and share them with the rest of the Council. Based upon the success of last year, we have set a goal of 16,000 hours for our 2010 project. With your help, we can reach our goal and “make the world a better place, one hour at a time”. |

Planting Seeds, Growing Lives patch blooms through collaboration
GSEP has collaborated with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to create the three-part Planting Seeds, Growing Lives Patch program to encourage Scouts of all ages to build relationships and learn how to use horticulture and greening in ways that can transform their communities. Hands-on activities--which include planting a pizza garden and worm composting!--focus on the tenets of Growth, Exploration, and Leadership. Click here to preview the curriculum and workbook. Scouts who earn at least one of the badges will be honored on Girl Scout Day (Sunday, March 7) at the 2010 Philadelphia International Flower Show.
