Changing a Life…It’s Forever
Whether you are a young adult looking to be a role model or an adult willing to give a few hours per week to facilitate a program designed to help girls grow, you are in the right place… we need you! There are two ways for adults to volunteer with the GSEP:
As an Adult Volunteer
This allows you to share your passion with an organization commited to the development of girls. We'll match your skills, talents and interests to service-oriented volunteer opportunities. You may even be called upon to help develop programs for girls.
As a Troop Leader
Troop Leaders volunteer to lead a troop or group of girls within a specific age level. There are currently about 4500 troops/groups located in within our nine county Council. GSEP provides a basic orientation, as well as age-level training. Troop Leaders are also connected with a network of veteran volunteer leaders who will help answer their questions and provide ongoing support.
What Are Your Interests?
You have decided to join us. Great! Please fill out and submit this Volunteer Interest Indicator Form so we may make the most of your volunteer experience.
Volunteer Background Clearance Process
Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) is committed to a safe environment of our girl members. The Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania Volunteer Policies state:
"Consent for a volunteer background clearance is required for adult volunteers who work directly with girls on a regular basis. This includes leaders, co-leaders, product program managers, and adults who attend overnight events. Prior to assuming a volunteer assignment, candidates must complete a background check application, consent form, and the required processing fee."
The Volunteer Background Clearance Application and/or Renewal process can be completed online using a credit card or by downloading and completing the Volunteer Background Clearance Application and mailing it along with a check or money order for $5 made payable to GSEP. Background clearances completed through GSEP are valid for 3 years. If you have a copy of a prior background check completed in the last 12 months through another organization, GSEP will honor it for three years. Please read the Frequently Asked Questions prior to completing the background clearance process. To proceed and complete the application process, please select from the available links below.
